 IT RETURNS: ఐటీ రిటర్న్స్‌ గడువు పొడిగింపు

దిల్లీ: కరోనా నేపథ్యంలో పన్ను చెల్లింపుదారులకు కేంద్రం ఊరట కల్పించింది. ఐటీ రిటర్నుల దాఖలు గడువును పొడిగించింది. 2020-21 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరానికి సంబంధించి వ్యక్తుల రిటర్నుల దాఖలు గడువును సెప్టెంబర్‌ 30 వరకు పొడిగించింది. కంపెనీలకు సైతం రిటర్నుల దాఖలుకు నవంబర్‌ 30 వరకు అవకాశం ఇచ్చింది. కొవిడ్‌ వేళ పన్ను చెల్లింపుదారులకు ఊరట కల్పించేందుకు ఈ నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నట్లు సెంట్రల్‌ బోర్డ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ డైరెక్ట్‌ ట్యాక్సెస్‌ (సీబీడీటీ) వెల్లడించింది. వ్యక్తులకు ఇప్పటి వరకు రిటర్నుల దాఖలుకు జులై 31, కంపెనీలకు అక్టోబర్‌ 31గా సీబీడీటీ గడువు ఉండేది. కంపెనీలు తమ ఉద్యోగులకు జారీ చేసే ఫారం -16 గడువును సైతం సీబీడీటీ పొడిగించింది. జులై 15 వరకు ఇందుకు గడువును నిర్దేశించింది.

ఆదాయ‌పు ప‌న్ను రిట‌ర్నుల దాఖ‌లును సుల‌భ‌త‌రం చేసేందుకు కొత్త ఈ-ఫైలింగ్‌ పోర్టల్‌ను ఐటీ శాఖ అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకొచ్చింది. పాత పోర్టల్ www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in స్థానంలో కొత్తపోర్టల్ www.incometaxgov.in ను తీసుకొచ్చింది. జూన్‌ 7 నుంచి ఈ కొత్త పోర్టల్‌ అందుబాటులోకి రానుంది. అయితే, జూన్‌ 1 నుంచి 6వ తేదీ వరకు పాత పోర్టల్‌ పన్ను చెల్లింపుదారులకు అందుబాటులో ఉండదని ఐటీ శాఖ పేర్కొంది.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said the decision was taken to provide relief to taxpayers in case of a coup. Until now, the CBDT deadline for individuals to file returns was July 31, and for companies October 31. The CBDT has also extended the Form-16 deadline that companies issue to their employees. The deadline is July 15.

The IT department has launched a new e-filing portal to facilitate filing of income tax returns. The old portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in has been replaced by the new portal www.incometaxgov.in. The new portal will be available from June 7. However, the old portal will not be available to taxpayers from June 1 to 6, the IT department said.
